My Job
I advise global corporates and start-ups on the ins and outs of the Brussels policy avalanche machine. I help them understand how it all works and what they could or should do about it. Both architect and plumber, I focus on devising and driving lobbying campaigns.
My Experience
I started in Brussels helping out NGOs. Then I worked for a Slovenian EPP MEP for several years. After which I went through the revolving door entering ‘the private sector’. Since, I have yet to leave the wonderful world of consulting.
My Specialisms
My Proudest Achievements
My daughter Charlotte. Even though it should hardly be considered an achievement (I am supposedly a man after all), she is and forever will be the greatest gift in life.
My Education
University of St Andrews, International Relations & Modern History
My Languages
English, Slovene, Geek!
My Interests outside work
As much as I am struck by the as-yet-incurable disease of politics, I prefer the worlds of maths, physics and computing. For no good reason, I search for the Theory of Everything, while playing around with every new machine learning tool.
More concretely though, I love writing and stand-up, and hope we may soon experience a Magna Carta in the age of AI before it is all too late (the time is ticking..).
My Favourite Brussels anecdote
The most common line spoken in the Bubble “In one or two years, I’m going to leave Brussels”. 15 years later and they’re all still here.
In the words of George Carlin “it’s a big club and you ain’t in it”.
