My Job

I lead SEC Newgate EU’s team of talented advocacy and communications consultants, providing both strategic counsel and tactical support for clients across sectors in Europe and beyond. Passionate association executive, I have launched, managed and grown associations of all sizes in a variety of sectors.

My Experience

With over 20 years’ experience in the management of non-profit organisations, I have managed over 10 organisations ranging from trade associations to large professional societies in a variety of sectors (environment, energy, healthcare, etc), from 20 to over 8000 members.

My Specialisms

My Proudest Achievements

If I have to pick just one, it would have to be supporting the government relations of a trade association across Europe. Starting with a situation where their products were either banned, or on the verge of being banned, to a situation 8 years later where they could sell their products across Europe, with no restritctions. This implied among other coordinating pan-European campaigns,  filing complaints for infringement of EU Treaties and even bringing the case of one country before the European Court of Justice.

My Interests outside work

I love baking (I have witnessed people shed a tear after a bite of one of my cookies, just saying). I enjoy walking in the countryside at the weekend and discovering other cultures.

My Favourite Brussels anecdote

Getting the EP to literally sort a ramp to access the speaker podium of one of their meeting rooms overnight for an event on business & disability the next day!
