My Job
I advise clients across sectors on public affairs and strategic communication vis-à-vis EU stakeholders, helping businesses to understand and navigate complex policy and regulatory issues.
My Experience
I joined FGS following its acquisition of Hague Corporate Affairs. Alongside my work on policy and regulatory issues in the energy, environment, and sustainability sectors, I have helped develop and implement a range of communications and media engagement campaigns addressing critical business situations such as transactions, restructuring, reputational crises, and ESG matters.
Before moving into consultancy, I worked on research projects at think tanks across Europe, including a stint as a Visiting Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).
My Specialisms
My Proudest Achievements
It is rewarding to see our work with clients results in positive policy outcomes and gain media recognition.
My Education
- Joint Master’s Degree in European Studies from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
- Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
My Languages
English and Dutch. Working on my Italian (for non-work conversations)
My Interests outside work
I love both the city and country. After spending the week in the city, I enjoy getting out into nature during the weekends. I play the guitar and enjoy listening to the virtuosos, especially Eric Clapton.
My Favourite Brussels anecdote
Former Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker reportedly said: “We decide on something, leave it lying around, and wait and see what happens. If no one kicks up a fuss, because most people don’t understand what has been decided, we continue step by step until there is no turning back.”
Moral of the story: Know what’s going in Brussels and make a fuss at the right time.
