My Job
I am a Managing Director at FTI Consulting Brussels where I support clients in developing and implementing their public policy strategies at EU, international and national level. My particular focus is on EU financial services and taxation policy as well as the Level 2 processes.
My Experience
I started my career as a lawyer, in law firms in the Netherlands and Lithuania, as well as an in-house lawyer of an oil and gas company. More than a decade ago I moved to Brussels to work in the Legal Service of the European Commission and later in business consultancies. Practising as a lawyer, my job involved solving client problems. However, I enjoy my work much more as a public affairs consultant – as for more than a decade I have helped clients prevent those legal problems from even appearing.

My Favourite Brussels anecdote
When I arrived in Brussels, the new Council building was under construction and one could only see the enormous golden egg which is now covered by windows. It was particularly bad timing, as it was in the middle of the European sovereign debt crisis and media did not waste time to criticise and point out the irony of the image… It taught me quite a lesson that even the best designed plans might turn sour if circumstances change.
