My Job
I help organisations understand how EU legislation impacts their activities and build relationships with key EU decision-makers. With an expertise in renewable energy, sustainable transport and circular economy, my work tends to always have an environmental angle. That’s what I enjoy the most and do best.
My Experience
A cluster of coincidences and a touch of youthful hubris have brought me to where I am today. With a background in engineering, working in EU affairs might not seem like the most obvious career path, but I believe that a range of perspectives are needed to ensure good law making. Legislation must be both technically sound and practically feasible -as well as ambitious!
I first came to Brussels for a traineeship with the European Commission. I joined what I think must have been one of the most interesting EC units at the time: DG Environment Clean air & transport. My colleagues there generously shared both knowledge and tasks, and I loved it. There I had the chance to learn about their work to make all modes of transport more environmentally friendly in a range of different ways.
At that time, ADS Insight was in touch with this unit, and one thing led to another. I joined the company as soon as my traineeship came to an end, back in August 2007.
Everyone in Brussels knows that it takes more than a nice CV to be successful. I am grateful for the help I have received from others over the years, and I try to pay it forward. I am a mentor to a talented Gen Z-er, take on speaking slots as often as I can and dedicate a fair amount of time for internal work, in particular in our in-house B Corp team.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of WISTA Sweden (WISTA meaning Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association).
