My Job
I divide my time between health policy advisory services and building coalition partnerships for the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza and other respiratory viruses (ESWI) and the Global One Health Community (GOHC) producing studies and supporting the organisation of major scientific events. I am also responsible for HR and Admin issues within the Management Team.
My Experience
I have gained experience working with a wide range of private and public organisations with close to 30 years’ experience in European Public Affairs, with a particular focus on EU Health policy for the last 12 years. These include private consultancies, regional authorities, associations, and member-based networks in different roles, in Brussels and in Washington DC.
My Specialisms
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements was when I, single handedly, very young, in a new role, moved to Washington DC, to set up and manage the move of the new office of the Swedish American Chambers of Commerce from NY to Washington DC.
My Education
- Masters level Diploma in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Bologna
- BA (Cum Laude) in International Affairs and History from Vesalius College, Brussels.
My Languages
Swedish, English, French, and Dutch.
My Interests outside work
I just recently discovered Qi Gong and highly recommend it. I also love to read, spend time with friends and family, dance (always dance) and planning for the next party or fun event.
My Favourite Brussels anecdote
Misunderstandings across language barriers happen frequently. A Swedish politician from a regional health authority opened an event by asking if there are any “germs” in the audience. He wanted to welcome German colleagues to the launch of a cross-border project.
