Red Flag

My Job

My role is to help European and global clients shape the narrative on issues that define their agendas. This means working at the intersection between media, campaigning, and high-level outreach.

I develop public affairs and communications strategies and implement them with the support of a dedicated team. I build coalitions and alliances for our clients to drive real change. Notably, I have spearheaded campaigns across agriculture, sustainability, consumer goods, and digital sectors.

In my free time, I am also a Board Member of SEAP (Society of European Affairs Professionals).

My Experience

I have been driving campaigns at Red Flag for 7 years now. Starting as an Account Executive and rising through the ranks to become an Account Director, I’ve consistently led with dedication and expertise, steering our campaigns to success. I previously provided strategic advice to Romanian companies in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, worked for the legal service of the European Parliament, and for a legal consultancy carrying out compliance assessments for the European Commission.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievements have always been running successful campaigns on heavily regulated industries across multiple countries. One of the campaigns close to my heart is one where I managed to get support from over 50k citizens across the EU following a roadshow in top European capitals. The roadshow created a media buzz everywhere with hits following even nowadays. Having the opportunity to meet journalists, policymakers and citizens from almost all 27 Member States made me realise how diverse and unique the EU is.

My Education

After I finished my law degree in Iasi, Romania, I ventured to Brussels with a clear goal: to pursue an LLM in European and International Law at the Institute for European Studies (VUB), aiming to return to Romania and become a prosecutor. Little did I know that 12 years later I will still be in Brussels working in communications and public affairs.

My Languages

Romanian, English, French and always looking for a pen pal to improve my Italian.

My Interests outside work

Spending time with family and friends, gardening and painting.

My Favourite Brussels anecdote

As a young consultant, I was once chased into the bathroom by an NGO lobbyist. I was at an event in the European Parliament organised by a well-known NGO and they were opposed to my client’s position. She wasn’t open to debate and wanted me to leave. I held my ground, and after a few minutes she lost interest and left me alone. So, it is not only the MEPs that get followed into toilets in Brussels.
